A Greenville data center has gained more cloud access with a new partnership.

DartPoints, a provider of secure, high-performance data center, cloud, and disaster recovery solutions, and Megaport, a global network as a service (NaaS) company, have created a partnership that brings Megaport’s global connectivity platform directly to DartPoints’ Greenville Data Center, according to a news release.

As Megaport’s first footprint in South Carolina, this collaboration addresses a critical gap in cloud access throughout the Southeast, enabling businesses to tap into more than 975 interconnected data centers and 380-plus cloud onramps, the release stated.

Regional enterprises often encounter rising costs and network bottlenecks when using public internet connections, according to the release. With Megaport’s software-defined network now available at DartPoints’ Greenville campus, companies can establish private virtual cross-connects (VXCs) to major cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud from a single port. This enables seamless application deployment, inferencing, and robust backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Moreover, by joining Megaport’s global ecosystem, DartPoints can now serve customers beyond its immediate footprint, allowing organizations in other markets to easily discover and connect to DartPoints’ infrastructure as if it were local, the release stated. The DartPoints and Megaport solution reduces latency by up to 40%, lowers bandwidth expenses by an average of 25%, and simplifies management through an intuitive portal and API integrations.

By co-locating within DartPoints’ Greenville facility, businesses gain:

  • Instant provisioning of virtual cross-connects (VXCs) to multiple cloud providers from a single port.
  • The ability to dynamically scale bandwidth to match workload demands, reducing both costs and complexity.
  • Lower latency and higher security for critical applications, including AI and analytics workloads.
  • Simplified network management through an intuitive portal and robust API integrations.

“This partnership supports our mission to continually enhance our world-class network, data center, and cloud connectivity to all our customers on the DartPoints platform. It is apropos that we are starting in Greenville, a critical and growing region for the US,” said Scott Willis, CEO of DartPoints, said in the release. “Through the DartPoints infrastructure and access to Megaport’s global ecosystem, our Greenville customers can move faster, connect smarter, and support high-performance workloads with ease.”

As enterprise demand for hybrid cloud, AI processing, and multi-region deployments continues to grow, Megaport’s entrance into the South Carolina market meets a clear and rising need for agile infrastructure, the release stated. The DartPoints’ Greenville Data Center has now become a strategic node in the Southeast for cloud and network access for businesses without the complexity of traditional contracts and provisioning.

“Greenville represents a vital entry point for Megaport’s expansion in the Southeast,” said Michael Reid, CEO of Megaport, in the release. “Through our partnership with DartPoints, we’re helping customers accelerate AI initiatives, support scalable applications, and simplify the way they connect across regions and platforms — all in 60 seconds or less.”
