  5. DartPoints joins the Open Grid Alliance (OGA) as one of 34 founding members

DartPoints has joined the Open Grid Alliance (OGA) along with dozens of other new members this month. The news comes along with the official formation of the OGA as a nonprofit organization.

Founded in April, the OGA aims to evolve the internet by bringing great minds of the industry together “to rearchitect the Internet from the communications hub that currently exists, to a global, shared platform that distributes compute, data, and intelligence to where it’s needed, when applications and services demand it, and with guarantees and SLAs,” OGA’s press release states. “In short, the OGA aims to lay the digital foundation for a better world.”

“Since DartPoints’ founding, our goal has been to accelerate the adoption of a rich digital ecosystem outside of traditional tier 1 markets by providing underserved communities access to edge compute, interconnect and peering,” explained Brad Alexander, DartPoints’ CTO. “As such, we are proud to be members of the OGA and we’re excited to aid in the Alliance’s mission to invest in the future of the internet for the betterment of connectivity across the globe.”

The 34 founding members consist of a wide variety of organizations across multiple sectors and countries, all working toward the common goal of re-imagining the internet to better fit the modern world through new technological considerations.

Founded in 2012, DartPoints has been on the forefront of the edge movement since inception. The team is proud to work alongside the brightest minds in the industry to craft the next iteration of the internet, together. By weaving together cloud, interconnection, colocation and managed services into one unique solutions suite, DartPoints is enabling edge ecosystems for enterprises, carriers, and cloud and content providers. DartPoints is building tomorrow’s distributed digital infrastructure while serving today’s cloud and colocation needs.
